In 1976, Montréal made history by playing host to the Olympic Games.
Fifty years later, the young generation is reaping the benefits of this legacy.
As part of a Jamboree, the theme day commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Montréal, hundreds of youngsters and adults are invited to get into the Olympic spirit through an immersive, dynamic and unifying experience.
In the heart of Place des Nations, participants will be part of a great scout Olympiad inspired by the Games’ fundamental values: surpassing oneself, team spirit, respect and solidarity. The proposed activities will emphasize physical activity, cooperation, inclusiveness and youth leadership in a festive and safe environment.
This day is meant to be much more than a simple sports event; it’s a celebration of Montréal’s Olympic legacy, a time of intergenerational transmission and a rare opportunity to showcase young people as an engine for civic involvement.
Combining symbolic ceremonies, group challenges and a festive ambiance, the Olympic theme day will stir the memory of 1976 as it resolutely looks toward the future.
