Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montréal

As part of the 50th anniversary of the Montréal 1976 Olympic Games, Parc Jean-Drapeau features two outdoor exhibits that invite visitors to explore the history of the Games and the legacy they left on the site. These temporary installations showcase some of the Parc’s iconic locations through historical content, photographs and archival documents.

The first exhibit, installed on a pedestrian bridge leading to the Floralies Gardens, features an illustrated timeline developed by the McCord Stewart Museum that retraces the key milestones in the planning and staging of the Montréal Olympic Games. The second, located near the Olympic Basin, consists of a series of interpretive panels highlighting the evolution of the site, its facilities and the water sports that continue to be practised there today.
